Phunk Patrol started out in July 2004 after holding a successful audition where many were picked to join us under the direction of Mr Lionel Araya. Mr L-Train himself is a founding member of the Groovaloos ( Los Angeles ) and Grand Champion of the 1997 International Street Dance Competition, Los Angeles . He aims to bring a whole new standard of dance to the local dance industry with the Phunk Patrol. This dynamic team of dance enthusiasts comes from all walks of life and they've come together to share their passion for the art itself.

These dancers undergo training at least twice a week in Popping, Locking, Breakdancing/B-boying and new skool freestyling. They've brought together their eclecticism and together with Mr Lionel Araya have developed the group's distinct style. Refining techniques that were pioneered by legends such as the Don Campbell Lockers and the Electric Boogaloos, the crew has performed for the Traders Hotel, Osim Trade Fair, Y-Proms, Mediacorp's Renci Charity Show and the Hard Rock Café to name a few. They blew the audience away at LADC's Hope Street Reconstructed 2005 and have competed and took 3 rd place at the Passion 2005 Female Floorball Competition and clinched 1 st and 3 rd positionings at the Bukit Batok Community Centre Competition. They continue to maintain their standards while challenging and improving their skills.
